Why Sleep is Important
How much sleep do I need?
The amount of sleep one needs depends on various factors such as your sleep quality and health conditions, but especially your age. Here is a outline to reference how much sleep you should be clocking in per night.

Infants
12 to 16 hours
From the age 0 - 3 months, newborns should be sleeping up to 17 hours per day, including naps. Up to 12 months old, infants should be sleeping longer than 12 hours per day.
Children
9 to 12 hours
Pre school age children should be sleeping 10 to 12 hours per day. School age children should be sleeping at least 9 hours per day. Getting the optimal amount of sleep promotes growth, helps beat germs and increases attention span in children.

Teenagers
8 to 10 hours
Teens aged 13 to 18 should be getting around 9 hours of sleep per night. Any less could compromise their moods, school work and social development.
Adults
7+ hours
Adults should get getting 7 to 8 hours of sleep. This will help with weight regulation, stress, and lower risk for diseases and illness. After age 60, this may raise up to 9 hours.
